tiny little video game worlds

all of these off book videos I’ve watched have been great.

That is fantastic… It reminds me of the beginning of Summer Wars, where you just want to watch it over and over for the details.  Is that like Brock all grown up at the end?  I guess he had to get a real job eventually.

This old animated open had like a million times more atmosphere than the recent live action version.  The only thing that had going for it was a version of this theme song.

Polarbear Cafe. Not that great of a show, but the opening is amazing.

That show looks fantastic… I like the set and character design a lot… It’s like a for reelz kid version of Wonder Showzen.  It’s tots surreal.
Nintendo children’s books.

I have really strong memories of watching the They Might Be Giant theme’d episode of Tiny Toons (the muppet babies version of looney toons) when I was young. I also strongly associate them with The Aquabats? Maybe I just listened to both around the same time in my life…

Interestingly enough, both bands have went on to explore kid-centric music/programming. The Aquabats created a children’s show on Nickelodeon that I love. It can be kind of obnoxious at times, but it’s pretty adorable and they have some great celebrity & musical guests (amy sedaris, anthony bourdain, of montreal, even cornelius).

Brobee is my favorite character and this video is a perfect example of why.

Most of the segments border on bizarre/surreal to the point that you wonder if they intended to have secondary audience of stoners.

Goodbye, childhood!  So long!  All my fond memories of Lando Carlson (sic) trampled into mushy puddles.
Um, what?  And even better from a comment on Rock, Paper Shotgun:

There was even once a MUD (remember those?) way back when based entirely on lyrics from TMBG, probably “Flood” era. There’s nothing — and do I mean nothing — like having to take a boat of car across the lake to visit Particle Man and escaping from the Hall of Heads to Istanbul (but not to Constantinople).

someone needs to tell George Lucas to stop.

With great responsibility comes huge dickery, apparently.  Stay classy, Superman.
Some cross-stitchy goodness: here and here.
